Francesco Lagnese is known for creating approachable yet refined images that tell a story. He brings his warm but elegant sensibility to a broad range of editorial and commercial assignments, shooting portraits, travel spreads, interiors, landscapes and luxury products for a variety of clients such as AMEX, Clinique, Condé Nast Traveler, House Beautiful, Town and Country, West Elm and Martha Stewart. Repeat collaborations with prominent interior designers like Tom Scheerer, have led to successful book publications in the past years.
Lagnese, Italian from the Campania region, was raised in the rural countryside of Munich, Germany. He fell in love with photography in his early twenties, soon after buying his first camera, a Nikon Fm2 that he still owns. His extensive experience in color and black and white printing, understanding of light on location as in the studio, shooting medium format film and digital paves the way for creative freedom. From his base in New York City, Lagnese regularly travels to far-flung and exotic destinations, bringing with him his German appreciation for skillfulness and resourcefulness and Italian love for beauty. He lives in the East Village with his wife, two children and Kimbo the Schnauzer.
